The Kodaly Method

In case you think i've got plenty of time,
let me clarify that i don't.
But blogging's a good form of de-stressing.
Ha! Excuses.

Just a short post, entirely for my own recoding purpose.

Friday's music lesson was on the Kodaly Method.
A music learning approach i'm sure You and I have gone through in Primary School.
The tedious process of learning "hand-signs" for DO RE MI ..... to SO
It was a good lesson for the uninformed.
And it was delivered by a student instead of the professor.
I have a class of passionate music people who are trained overseas professionally
and this guy who came back from Canada taught us the Kodaly System.
If you think it's very trivial,
there's really more to it.
He trained the class to sing in canon, purely by looking at his hand signs
Then he got us to do a simple "tribal dance move" while chanting the tune.
And to my dismal and surprise,
i couldn't coordinate HAHA ... So much for being a music teacher.
But i looked around class, and some "musically-trained" people couldn't coordinate too haha
It was funny cos we looked like crabs .. .moving sideways ...
