Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers out there!

A special day to remember people who have made a difference in our lives

I say...
If you have failed to learn
I have failed to be a good teacher

If you have failed to listen
You have failed to be a good student

Back from English tutorial and feeling so excited about school again
all that energy just gets zapped back into the system after an adrenaline rush session
when i have to present a lesson plan to the class
and my heart goes thump thump thumpety thump
but BIG satisfied grins follow after your tutor nods approvingly
and all that fear dissipates
lalalalalalalala happy day

Also, received a few "happy teacher's day" greetings from my beloved ex-students
who are currently bombarding my msn account
after i've decided to unblock them for a day just to feed my "demoralised teacher ego"
on teacher's day
To my horror of horrors, there is a program which actually allows you to check
who is blocking you on MSN !!!
Looks like spyware to me... does it work?!?!

This is my first teacher's day in my teaching career.
Though i'm really a teacher student (oxymoron Ha!) now
Yet, it's really quite a memorable one
because this is the first time i'm truly appreciating my teachers
(sad to say, only when i've become one)
Early in the morning, I was woken up by my students' sms
wishing me "Happy Teachers' Day"
I immediately text my secondary school teacher
and wished her a Happy Teachers' Day too!
During tutorial, my class prepared a little cake and card for my English tutor
(she's giving us something in return on Friday)
It's really great to see all that camaradarie amongst teachers
sadly it almost never sustains long enough once into the 2nd year of teaching
Well, but the bottom-line as my English Tutor says,
there is backstabbing everywhere
but in the corporate world, the end result is profit
whilst in teaching, the end result is transformation of lives.

To digress... again....

So i've lied. haven't been all that busy with school work.
cos apparently i have squeezed in a "couch potato day" on Tuesday
to watch 11 episodes of Stairway to Heaven
and within said span of time, i've shed buckets of tears almost every episode
Now i'm convinced it's better to watch a sob inducing korean drama on small screen
since i didn't tear as much, hiding in my room
watching the remaining episodes on my small macintosh screen

actually, there are 9 more episodes i've yet to watch
but i have decided to give up. for the sake of my precious eyes.
and in reality i am an escapist.
You see, Stairway to Heaven is another typical Korean drama
which has an extremely sad ending.
I will not subscribe to all that pain and torture.
In fact, i feel cheated Ric conned me into watching the first few eps
and got me hooked.

Now i resolve to focus on work work work again.

But before that, I'm going to Karaoke now...
just a little "teacher's day treat" we are giving ourselves...
