The value of a smile

Smiles are the most overrated,
yet understated gestures we see
these days. Flip the pages of a magazine
and you'll see megawatt, million dollar smiles
Tell a lame joke and you'll see one almost immediately
So are smiles about the cheapest and the most expensive too?

Today, i saw the most beautiful smile
the smile of angels amidst turmoil,
through the grit of teeth in pain
of lost hope.

All smiles diminish
*fade off*
