President's Star Charity Advertisment on Radio

I was tuning in to FM98.7 when the following advertisement came on air (Read Excerpt)
leaving me flabbergasted and wishing that the whole T.T Durai saga never happened
Now, charity appeals never sounded more desperate...

Here it goes...
"Hi, I'm Zoe Tay. Every other week i go for a facial which costs $50. Not very expensive. (Can i even begin to imagine the apologetic look on her face when she said that?)
But did you know that $50 can help someone with learning disabilities ...."

So i don't donate often to charities, i do not even have the habit of dropping a few coins into a beggar's bowl along the streets. Ok call me a bloody pharisee... but it just doesn't sound right...

Seriously i believe Zoe Tay does give to the poor out of her very fat pay check, even after all the heavy tax deductions. But to go tell the whole world that you have a $50 facial every week and try to get people to donate to charities, especially when the masses are probably earning barely enough for survival, let alone weekly luxuries like $50 facials... hmm...
