Gargantua

"Feed me books", Gargantua hollered,
as he devoured voraciously
the leather bound tomes scattered in the study.
Gargantua glutted all day and night
in persistent pursuit of
the erudition of his mind
Gargantua's gargantuan appetite
could not be satiated
He thirsts
but could not be quenched.
Oh Gargantua,
The depths of knowledge can never be fathom
Wisdom that does not effect change on mankind
is but an empty tome that stands on a shelf
