Congratulations

To Jie who got 2nd upper honors
What should i say?
I would be lying if i said i ain't the least bit envious
of her newly minted achievement
because that would mean her grade and salary scale
would be raised by major proportions
So i am reminded of the Tortoise and Hare story
that tells of the Hare who was a faster runner than the Tortoise
yet the Tortoise emerged the winner for being slow and steady
Instead of feeling happy, honestly i felt a little upset
But i thought of the times when Jie could have felt the same exact way
when i aced my P.S.L.E, entered a SAP school, got to JC, went to Uni, passed my Grade 8
Yet she has never showed a tinge of jealousy nor envy
On the contrary, she was always there for me and proud of me she was
To my sister, you will always be the most perfect sister in my eyes
Aww.. tissue please :)
