while searching for pictures in a bid to prove mum wrong
about my gaudy taste for want of painting my room pink
i googled search "pink room" which led me to a succession of
"colored-room" games i clearly remember being hooked on
when i was still slogging (or should i say slacking)
as a logistics executive in YMAP
it's awfully amazing how time flies
2006 is a major milestone for many of us
dee who's finishing his course of study
me a full fledged teacher and all
the end of jie's bond (how absolutely fortunate)
and i could name more if i wanted a list
but that's besides the point.
the point being... i digressed.
a series of "colored-room games" i hid behind my laptop
furiously trying to decode
whilst pretending to be the most conscientious worker
at the same time, and that's what they call multi-tasking
(i digress again)
so this series of games as i was saying,
created by a genius Japanese guy named Toshimitsu Takagi
is totally intriguing.
Named "Crimson Room", "Viridian Room" and later "The White Chamber",
these games position the gamer a persona trying to escape from a colored room
by looking for items or solving clues
For the entire duration of the game, you are trapped in the room trying to escape
and on top of that, you are constantly spooked by "The Ring-like" music in the background.
It spooks me to the core, but i don't know why i'm hooked on it.
I remember solving it (with/without the help of online cheat walkthroughs) back at YMAP
in fact, only these successful "escapees" are recognised and joins a list of fellow escapees.
It's true satisfaction one gets upon completion of the game that keeps one coming back for more i think.
I know. I've ranted and raved about it the whole night long.
I've just been spooked playing it a second time - The Crimson Room.
Countering the spooky sound effects at 0251am with the sound of Jamie Cullum
singing "Twenty Something" in my I-Tunes
It's fun. Try it. Here's the link http://www.fasco-csc.com/index_e.php
I warned you.
Oh... but back to the point i was trying to make at first
(pardon me it's 0253am)
about my pink room
you see, some dud created a similar game after this series and named it
Yes! You guessed it! "The Pink Room"
which many have labeled "a cheap innuendo" of Takagi's most recent "The Pink Prison"
Haven't really tried it entirely.
Apparenly the cult of Takagism are laughing their heads off it.
Try it on http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=10806
Yeah... "I am bored.com"... that probably isn't too hard to figure.
Oh... and i'm painting my room a bright flamingo pink.
And it's definitely a room i've never desired to escape from.
(err.. .i figured. lame ending. well anyway here i go again, rambling off
in the wee hours of the morning. go try the games. really fun man.)
