Frozen

It's freezing butt cold here in Perth
and i'm sittin' in Dee's room doin' nothin'
(the accent is slowly catchin' on again)
hence, the decision to blog about
my otherwise boring trip
(the otherwise to be elaborated later)

So my second trip on a solo flight
and i'm getting the hang of it
slowly but surely.
The trip to the airport was
accompanied by mum
We had the most outrageously yukky food
at the airport before i sent mum on her way home
by train at the Changi Airport MRT at T2.
On my way back to board my flight at T1
via the Sky Train,
i met with the most unfortunate incident.
The Sky Train Service was stalled
due to certain technicalities.
Fortunately, my instincts told me that
i shouldn't behave like the typical Singaporean
and rush into the stalled Sky Train once its doors open.
Instead, i took the long walk back to T1
and the rest is history.

I had a most jinxed book with me on board the plane
"5 people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom
it was a nice simple read
for some parts of the journey
i exploited the in-flight entertainment
and tuned in to TransAmerica
which was an extremely beautiful movie.
tracing the life of a transvestite on the verge
of embarking on a complete sex change
when he realises he has a son from his teenage days.
Themes of acceptance, forgiveness (or indifference?)
and the motif of the journey as a metaphorical representation
of one's discovery and growth in life
runs through out the entire movie.
One emerges from the movie - enlightened
Tried to watch Brokeback Mountain
(overly-hyped, bad lighting, good scenery)
only to find myself snorin towards the end.
Maybe it was the lighting. (in the plane i mean)

I might be gradually recovering from "Aviophobia"
which is a good sign.
now i just need further places to travel to,
and more money for me to do that

Met Wei in Perth City today
had brunch with her before we proceeded
to do some speedy shopping
before she went off for her city tour
of chocs, cheese and wine.
After which, i had some time to
"conquer" the stores before
Dee came to pick me up.

Tis a good time to shop in Perth this period
because of the widespread "sales" in most
major departmental stores and brands like
Sportsgirl, Just Jeans, Jeans West, Surf shops like roxy...
Surprisingly the damage was minimal today.
I bought a pink VOLCOM skirt with white polka dots
at $9.95 and horror of horrors,
i hope i have not made a fashion faux pas
by purchasing a pair of black leggings from Sportsgirl.
Haha... i'm a certified cheap thrill!

Oh, did i tell you?
i'm rather proud of myself today
managed to find my way back
to the railway station for Dee to pick me up.
*smilez*

i'm freezing my ass off now.
