a dream sequence

we were lying on our backs
tucked in soft quilts, Jie and I
(the rest it seems just fade away)
it resembled a slumber party
almost like we've won a NASA
"trip to space" contest

i peer into my deepest reserves
recollecting

we could have been on a space craft
the view was panoramic
seperated by a huge glass pane
the galaxy and us
like perched atop the travellator
viewing the underwater world

curtains of stars drape the galaxy
i exclaim in wonder "look Jie, so pretty"
streams of stars pass us by
sometimes we were lucky
and saw a planet

the sky was a fiery orange-red
like it had just mourned and bled
like a foreboding omen of what was to come
then i saw a planet
it was planted with satellites
and amused "wow, so many satellites"

in a flash, everything happened
a flaming meteor collided
right smack into the satellite planet
and the huge glass pane
shattered under the immense cosmic reaction

the one thing i said before i died
"Jie, i always love you"
