Insomnia sets in
The unbearable nights
When all activity ceases
The mind awakens
In contemplation
Of a day that has passed
In a life
Mediocre

Like a wounded soldier
i lay
battered
eyes washed out
heart weary
lips pursed
ears deafened
strength wanes
another day comes
time waits for no man
press on
till fatigue sets in
and death comes
to take us away
and we realise that
all we pursue
are but mirages
of our vain desires

Life is a paradox
we live to die

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10
