The Before and Aftermath

Before ...
arrived too early to find that the Embassy was closed
only to realise that there was nothing much i could do
but find a place and wait.
the nearest was a cafe; 5 minutes away
as i walked
the hidden splendour of the rich and famous
greeted me under the lush greenery
of fallen leaves and an unfamiliarity
I have not seen before
Passed the Embassy of Saudi
which seemed embarrassingly delapidated
so asphyxiated
i repeated my introduction
to myself
like a broken record

listened to "With All I Am" on my Iphone
came to the realisation that
"Beautiful Saviour" was also led on Sunday
perfect coincidence
and the peace of God which passes all understanding
kept my heart in the knowledge that He IS
my comforter, my strength, my shelter
and to Him i give thanks for all that He has done.

time ticked and i strolled back to the Embassy
my heartbeat accelerated again
and my palms getting clammy
i reminded myself what i was there for
AGAIN.
because all that bowing, formality, hierarchy
BIG MALE EGOS
seemed all too familiar ONCE AGAIN.

finally i was escorted to a waiting room
and my heart
felt as if it was wringed over and over again
so i took deep breaths
really long and slow deep breaths
then i received an epiphany
What IF? i thought
a sudden sadness crept through my veins
and warmed my heart
then it all disappeared

The Aftermath
I felt like a rattle-snake
If i won an award, it would be for Little Miss Scatter Brain
Come what may... Que sera sera

And... i descend to reality
I will treasure You.
