Perth in Pictures II

I thought it would be appropriate to begin this post
with an introduction of Monkey Mia, where i spent
most days of my Perth Trip at. It's a lovely place
located off Denham in Western Australia.
Shark Bay - Monkey Mia is a world heritage area
set aside for the conservation of dolphins.
It's a really long drive there from Perth.
We drove for up to 9 hours there and that was
only because we were driving at a blimey speed of
(boldly doubling the speed limit) :

And along the never-ending highway,
there were dead and mashed up kangaroos
crossing goats, cows, monitor lizards
I'm not kidding.

By the time we reached Denham, the sun had set.
It was a beautiful place, perfect for fishing (more on that later)

The next morning, we set off for Monkey Mia.
Arriving, we were greeted by Mr Pelican,
hanging around furtively waiting
for the dolphins' feed to arrive.

Finally the stars of the day. Did you know?
These dolphins are not held in captivity at Monkey Mia.
In fact, dolphin sighting is not guaranteed.
These dolphins come for feed at different times of the day
(who doesn't want free food?)
Pity we do not get to touch the dolphins though
even the trainers can't touch them
(they have an unspoken pact, sweet)

That was basically the highlight of our long and tedious drive.

Apart from that, we took to fishing
which was really quite fun.
Especially when you get to eat your own catch.
This is my favorite pic of the lot.
My prized catch!

That's our catch after less than 1 hour. And seagulls are really pesky creatures.

More of our prized catch.

That sums up my little Perth get-away.
Pics posted have passed the censorship board aka D
(with a few exceptions)
I'll be back again. Though i insisted after my lonely plane ride
that "This will be the last time i'm doing something like this
for the person i love". I lied.
