little Jovan
hi there baby boy
i've met you twice
on the train
making our way home
remember?
you even sat beside me
firmly planted on mummy's lap
you have the nicest eyes
the cutest nose
the softest silliest
dumb and dumber haircut
and you wear that blue uniform
that says "smiling kids child care"
i think
have you met little jovan?
he loves to play "make believe mrt train"
with his tiny metal lunchbox of
shiny winnie-the-pooh stickers
today, he decided that tigger should be the driver
and piglet, will be his partner
he places shiny sticker on lunchbox cover
and mummy starts driving lunchbox
around little jovan
he says he's been a good boy today
in his husky voice
but he forgot to wash his hands with soap
before his meals
cos he was thinking of something
(do kids think? hmm... what do they think of?)
he claims the other kids do not wash their hands with soap
mummy says, do not follow what the other kids do
tells little jovan that germs can spread
from his hands to his mouth
if he doesn't wash them
little jovan nods his head
and mummy beams a wide smile of pride
dear little jovan
pardon me for eavesdropping
but you are such an angel
forget all the incentives, the baby bonuses
the marriage and parenthood package
cos i'm sure you've suceeded in convincing some commuters
at least i'm moved
